Speedy deletion nomination of Charles Rodney Chandler

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Charles Rodney Chandler requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Charles Rodney Chandler. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Robert McClenon, I don't see the "Contest this speedy deletion" button. إيان (talk) 18:42, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
It appeared when I looked through the article history. Perhaps it was hidden in the new WP layout. إيان (talk) 18:51, 11 September 2022 (UTC)

September 2022

Information icon Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Charles Rodney Chandler. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion, which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. Robert McClenon (talk) 19:28, 11 September 2022 (UTC)

As can be surmised from my comments on the notification above, it wasn't on purpose. It must have happened accidentally as I was developing the page. إيان (talk) 19:33, 11 September 2022 (UTC)

Charles Rodney Chandler moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Charles Rodney Chandler, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Misplaced Pages). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Misplaced Pages's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hello, إيان,
This article was deleted in an AFD discussion. If you move Draft:Charles Rodney Chandler back into main space, it WILL be deleted via speedy deletion, CSD G4. But I've moved this version into Draft space. Please work on improving the draft and submit it to Articles for Creation for review. If it is approved, it will be moved to main space and has a larger chance of surviving. Again, please do not just move this article back into main space or it will be deleted. Good luck! Liz 00:45, 12 September 2022 (UTC)
Hello Liz,
An article created under the same title was deleted after an AfD discussion over a decade ago. This is not a case of WP:G4, which applies to "sufficiently identical copies, having any title, of a page deleted via its most recent deletion discussion," but "excludes pages that are not substantially identical to the deleted version." The one I've written can not be substantially identical to the one deleted a decade ago. I've never seen the 2010 article and the article I've written cites sources published in the last few years.
When the article was tagged for speedy deletion, I contested the deletion, yet the page was moved to draft space without addressing the points I raised.
For these reasons I ask that you please move the article back into main space.
Thank you,
إيان (talk) 03:51, 12 September 2022 (UTC)
The article I wrote also has excellent inline citations, with reliable, independent sources—including newspapers of record such as Folha de S.Paulo and the BBC and monographs from journalists and historians such as Mário Magalhães  and Carlos Fico —for every claim at the end of every sentence. So the assessment that it "needs more citations from reliable, independent sources" needs more specificity and substantiation. إيان (talk) 04:07, 12 September 2022 (UTC)
