Utricularia
Hi 乌拉跨氪. I've seen your work on Nepenthes articles on the Chinese Misplaced Pages - very impressive! I'd be happy to help, but what do you mean by the root interpretation? mgiganteus1 (talk) 15:53, 30 March 2012 (UTC)
- Oh, I see. Well this site is a very useful source for etymological derivations of CP species names. It won't include some of the more recent names but it should still be pretty complete. mgiganteus1 (talk) 17:32, 30 March 2012 (UTC)
- I don't know of a source for section names, but then I'm not that familiar with Utricularia literature in general. You might want to ask Rkitko, who wrote most of our Utricularia species articles. mgiganteus1 (talk) 11:39, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
- Utricularia inthanonensis and Utricularia phusoidaoensis are surely named after Doi Inthanon and Phu Soi Dao, their respective type localities. As for the others, it might be an idea to contact Jan Schlauer directly (email info here), as he helped put together the dictionary of CP names I linked above. Or maybe start a thread on one of the relevant forums - CPUK has many knowledgeable posters, for example. And let us know if you find the meanings! mgiganteus1 (talk) 23:32, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
- So that's all the Utricularia species and infrageneric taxa done? Fantastic! mgiganteus1 (talk) 12:47, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
