JAL123 and Keiko Kawakami

Welcome to Misplaced Pages! I notice You stated she was found under the wreckage, but another editor reverted because you didn't provide any sources that contradicted Air Disaster Volume 2. Do you know of sources saying she was found under wreckage?

Thanks WhisperToMe (talk) 11:25, 23 August 2014 (UTC)

p.s. I searched "宇野" and "宙太郎" on the Japanese Misplaced Pages. Does this mean your name is Mr. Uno? WhisperToMe (talk) 11:29, 23 August 2014 (UTC)

  • The English final report states on p.19-20 (PDF document: 33-34/332) "Bodies in E section which fell down to the dale together with the damaged airframe were recovered concentrated within a narrow area with relatively less damage. The four survivors were also rescued from this section." but I think it's just talking about the general area, and it doesn't contradict the part about Kawakami being wedged in the branches of a tree. BTW If you think the Japanese final report says anything about it, please show me the parts that states so. WhisperToMe (talk) 18:01, 24 August 2014 (UTC)
    • Thank you very much for bringing it to my attention. I clearly remember this accident. It gave a huge shock not only to me but also to whole Japanese society. Many books and articles had been written about this, and rescues who saved Kawakami testified that "We found the girl from under the wreckage". And Kawakami, herself, said that "When I noticed, something like a big screw was just in front of my eyes." Her testimony after the rescue was that "My father and younger sister were alive at first. We encouraged each other."宇野宙太郎 (talk)
You are welcome! I did a search of the book Dealing with Disaster in Japan and on Google books page 161: "Rescuers taking Keiko Kawakami out of the plane wreckage" (presumably a caption of a photo) - it may help to find and identify other sources that say she was found in wreckage. The sources may be in Japanese, and if so it helps to identify the specific text saying this. Thanls! WhisperToMe (talk) 10:55, 25 August 2014 (UTC)

Hello, and welcome to Misplaced Pages. This is a message letting you know that one or more of your recent edits to Japan Airlines Flight 123 has been undone by an automated computer program called ClueBot NG.

I went ahead and restored your edit. Now, do you have additional information about the source?

  • The author's name needs to be in both English and Japanese
  • Specific page number, and if it's in Google Books please provide a link so we can see it
  • ISBN?

Since I don't see a preview showing the relevant page, is it okay if you take a scan of the page with the relevant passage? If you want you may e-mail it to me. Thanks WhisperToMe (talk) 02:58, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
