Wabash Trail (Sangamon County)

The Wabash Trail is a 3.0-mile (4.8 km) rail trail in Sangamon County, Illinois. It was built by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and occupies an abandoned Wabash Railroad right-of-way on the southwest side of Springfield, Illinois, stretching eastward from Robbins Road (39°45′18.3″N 89°42′45.0″W / 39.755083°N 89.712500°W / 39.755083; -89.712500) to the Wabash Trail Parking on South Park Avenue (39°45′49.5″N 89°40′30.7″W / 39.763750°N 89.675194°W / 39.763750; -89.675194), linking with the northern terminus of the Interurban Trail. Upkeep and policing of the trail are managed by the Springfield Park District.
