Wicked City is a 1973 Australian television play. It was meant to be the pilot for a series that never eventuated; however, it aired as a standalone movie.

Premise

In the 1880s, a straight-laced English doctor inherits a brothel and a music hall from one of his patients in Melbourne.

Production

The play was announced in 1972. It was filmed that year, and was called one of the most expensive television productions in Australia. However, it did not air until 1973 in Melbourne and 1974 in Sydney.
