Invitation to take part in a survey about medical topics on Misplaced Pages
Dear fellow editor,
I am Piotr Konieczny, a sociologist of new media at Hanyang University (and User:Piotrus on Misplaced Pages). I would like to better understand Misplaced Pages's volunteers who edit medical topics, many associated with the WikiProject Medicine, and known to create some of the highest quality content on Misplaced Pages. I hope that the lessons I can learn from you that I will present to the academic audience will benefit both the WikiProject Medicine (improving your understanding of yourself and helping to promote it and attract new volunteers) and the wider world of medical volunteering and academia. Open access copy of the resulting research will be made available at WikiProject's Medicine upon the completion of the project.
All questions are optional. The survey is divided into 4 parts: 1 - Brief description of yourself; 2 - Questions about your volunteering; 3 - Questions about WikiProject Medicine and 4 - Questions about Misplaced Pages's coverage of medical topics.
Please note that by filling out this questionnaire, you consent to participate in this research. The survey is anonymous and all personal details relevant to your experience will be kept private and will not be transferred to any third party.
I appreciate your support of this research and thank you in advance for taking the time to participate and share your experiences! If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact me at my Misplaced Pages user page or through my email listed on the survey page (or by Misplaced Pages email this user function).
The survey is accessible through the LINK HERE.

Teddy Boy
I am new to this so apologies for any discrepancy in applying a response to the article on Teddy Boys. To my memory the British 1986 movie Absolute Beginners, also payed marginal homage to the Teddy Boys. Ben Okwo (talk) 09:08, 15 December 2021 (UTC)

Teddy Boys
I was just wondering if my recollection of the movie Absolute Beginners were correct. There was a scene in the movie where a man that could pass as a TB burnt some property while chanting the Jerry Lee Lewis song "Great balls of fire". I believe that should qualify for a mention in the article. Ben Okwo (talk) 15:45, 16 December 2021 (UTC)
Your submission at Articles for creation: Daijingū Temple of Hawaii (December 23)
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Greenman was: This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Misplaced Pages article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject. Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Misplaced Pages. Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit when they have been resolved.- If you would like to continue working on the submission, go to Draft:Daijingū Temple of Hawaii and click on the "Edit" tab at the top of the window.
- If you now believe the draft cannot meet Misplaced Pages's standards or do not wish to progress it further, you may request deletion. Please go to Draft:Daijingū Temple of Hawaii, click on the "Edit" tab at the top of the window, add "{{Db-g7}}" at the top of the draft text and click the blue "publish changes" button to save this edit.
- If you do not make any further changes to your draft, in 6 months, it will be considered abandoned and may be deleted.
- If you need any assistance, or have experienced any untoward behavior associated with this submission, you can ask for help at the Articles for creation help desk, on the reviewer's talk page or use Misplaced Pages's real-time chat help from experienced editors.

KylieTastic (talk) 15:56, 24 December 2021 (UTC)WP:OWN and furry fandom
I find especially the pace but also some of the content of your edits to furry fandom and its associated talk page concerning. Users like FormalDude, D0nk m3m3s and myself have all recently been involved in conversations with you regarding this page, but it seems your strategy is one of inundating the talk page with new sections about every little change you're making so that ones that are potentially controversial are just lost in the sheer amount of your output, both in edit count and talk page sections. Please start keeping talk pages concise, and not opening discussions unless your content has been removed (WP:BRD). It's also clear you're often rushing through your edits—consider e.g. Special:PermaLink/1061923448, where the lead contains the obvious grammatical error agreed to have begun at an American science fiction convention in 1980s. I like you, and think your edits are overall a help to the article, but some of your recent behavior on the talk page especially is difficult. Please start slowing down, creating less talk page sections (especially section titles like § I might move stuff are unhelpful), and giving other editors a chance. There is no deadline, and a slower process of article development, where only controversial issues are discussed on the talk page, and fully resolved one at a time, may indeed be overall better for the article and community than rapid fire edits and changes to all parts of the text. - it seems your strategy is one of inundating the talk page with new sections about every little change you're making so that ones that are potentially controversial are just lost in the sheer amount of your output, both in edit count and talk page sections
- That’s not my intention at all. I’ll explain later why I keep starting new discussions, I just don’t want this comment to be long.
- Also with regards to rushing. Keep in mind I Edit while doing other things. Like I edit Misplaced Pages during work or at parties.
- It should also be kept in mind I have serve ADHD.CycoMa1 (talk) 01:10, 26 December 2021 (UTC)

- @CycoMa1: Thank you ^w^ wasn't aware of the (severe) ADHD, and meant no offense, just wanted to let you know how I was perceiving your edits. Rusalkii (talk) 22:42, 30 December 2021 (UTC)WP:SPS as it relates to FurScience
Moved from Talk:Furry fandom § Furscience reliable on BDSMWhen we judge the reliability of sources, and whether or not they are self-published, we must consider only a few things and not get distracted by other factors. Furthermore, we must be stricter when the claim is extraordinary (BDSM is the most prevalent sexual fetish in the world is certainly an extraordinary claim), and when the claim does not relate to the source's purpose (a non-predatory journal of sexual studies may be able to credibly make such a claim, but FurScience cannot do so credibly). Some important factors are:
- What is the editorial policy of the publication—is there one?
- What is the source's bias? (Misplaced Pages:Frequently misinterpreted sourcing policy § What a writer/organization is an expert in matters – a lot, Misplaced Pages:Inaccuracy § Appendix: Reliability in the context)
- Misplaced Pages:Verifiability § Exceptional claims require exceptional sources.
It's important to note what I mean by source here. I am not using source to mean The International Anthropomorphic Research Project (IARP), the publisher of FurScience, neither their journal publications, neither non-IARP related publications by IARP-associated authors. Indeed, almost all of these journal articles, (so long as they were published in a journal,) are suitable for making exceptional furry fandom related and non-exceptional non-fandom related claims, and even if in very high quality journals, exceptional general claims: .
The issue is with the FurScience website itself, which is admitted to be a self-published source:
Furscience is the public face of the International Anthropomorphic Research Project (IARP), a multidisciplinary team of scientists studying the furry fandom.
— Who We Are
It is always inappropriate to use the personal website of an organization and not published journals to make extraordinary claims. We know that the project does not focus on figuring out how prevalent sexual fetishes are in the general population. The whole site makes clear it's an organization dedicated to studying furry fandom. It's a very low quality source to make the claim you were trying to make with it. The source and the claim it supports must be considered together, not just the source, as "reliable" or "unreliable". Very rarely is a source totally unreliable for all claims in wikivoice, as a corollary, very rarely is a source able to make any claim it wishes credibly. I hope this helped you.
