Operation Cast Lead is a Israeli air strike operation launched on December 27, 2008, in order to destroy Hamas military capacities.

The airstrikes killed more than 205 Palestinians and injured 270 others . According to Hamas spokesman, at least 140 of them were Hamas militants.
