== re: Phi Mu Alpha GA nom ==

I was completely off-base with this nomination, and it was mostly wishful thinking on my part. To date I have not been able to find a single non-trivial secondary source on the Fraternity, a google search turns the national website and tons of individiual chapter websites and not a whole lot else, google books turns up mostly trivial directory entries. This is very unfortunate, it will probably stop this article from being anything more than an expanded stub. Thanks for the input though, I will de-spam and fix what sounds like promotion and try for better MOS conformity. ''']™''' (] - ]) 15:31, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

Evaluation Request

Could you look at my contributions thus far(since my last RfA) and tell me if I'm doing "good", or where I need to improve. I want to make sure that my next RfA is flawless. Undeath (talk) 02:40, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

This may not be immediately understandable to for example children reading wikipedia.

Sock Puppet

Look at this and see the final two voters. They both have only contributed to the same thing, which was casting a keep vote. I think they are sock puppets. Undeath (talk) 20:48, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

Rock Pigeon

G'day Jimfbleak. I'm wondering about the subspecies C. l. gymnocyclus where it says "with a back white back" that seems to read wrong to me? I don't have Gibbs to refer to until I get to the Library. Cheers, Sting au Buzz Me... 11:34, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Moots Cycles

Hello Jim. The article for Moots Cycles was deleted. The reason given was "Article about a company, product, or service that doesn't assert sufficient notability." Moots is extremely noteworthy, with a long history of pioneering bicycle development and many, many reviews in various bicycle-oriented magazines. The admin who deleted the page, Satori Son, is now on a wikibreak, so I am coming to you for advice. If you re-instated the article, I would edit it to include many, many references establishing notability right away. See Talk:Moots Cycles for example references. Thanks! Fbagatelleblack (talk) 18:45, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks Jim! I'll work on the page ASAP. Fbagatelleblack (talk) 16:26, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
I created a very short entry for Moots Cycles today. More to follow this weekend (probably). If you have a chance to review the article, please let me know if you see any problems. Thanks!Fbagatelleblack (talk) 21:25, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Editor mis-using revert

Look at this and tell me what you think. I know that the article passed AFD, but as it stands it was a candidate for the importance tag. However, after I added it, it was "reverted" by Pandacomics. My rollback was removed for stuff like that. My edit was not vandalism nor was it nonconstructive. I have now added the context tag as it fits perfectly. If it is reverted, I will tage it to the board. Tell me your opinion on what just happened. (if you can) Thanks. Undeath (talk) 00:29, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

You might have just gone overboard....

The B.A.D article was about a band, not a person. Also, it survived a few AFD's in which they pointed out multiple foreign language sources and the fact that it's on the China Wiki. (I honestly don't think they were notable and that foreign sources do no help for en.wiki) I hope you know what you probably just got yourself into. XD Undeath (talk) 06:35, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Strange pages that might not be wiki worthy

I have a fairly large question regarding specific pages. Should pages like this actually be a wiki page? It is just a list of people in the family, which, IMO, should not be on wikipedia. There is already a list for political families, and I think pages like this are pointless. Undeath (talk) 05:13, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

RE: Family pages

I think they are pure cruft to be honest. I think that AfD would delete them as such too. Also, List of United States political families pretty much sums up the list part. I think adding multiple lists for families is just cruft. It's un-needed pagework. For example, this is the same as Udall family. Actually, I picked a bad example. The Udall family article is a good one because of it's quotations and other information relating to the actual family. The one's that I am relating too are like the ones that I showed you earlier. They are just lists of names. Some of them get really long and disgusting like Taft family, while others are so short, they do not serve a big purpose. (like Boren family) There are even categories for families. Look at things like . The categories might be notable, but the family pages are not encyclopedic. Undeath (talk) 06:08, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Have you thought about what should be done with the family pages/family list pages yet? Undeath (talk) 05:28, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Christina K. page deletion

Hi Jimfbleak, you deleted the page of recording artist, Christina K. (A7.) Under the wikipedia guidelines, she is notable as her single "I Got a Boyfriend" has been added to light rotation in thr top 40 & rythmic format. There is no way to link the bds/mediabase here, but it can be emailed. In addition there have been the following articles written about her from reputable sources:

URB Magazine: http://www.urb.com/promotions/next1000/profile.php?BandId=556

Scheme Magazine: http://schememag.com/fresh/christina-k/

Clutch Magazinene: http://clutchmagonline.com/lifeculture/feature/get-ready-for-christina-k/

Please advise how the article can be resubmitted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Morehitsentertainment (talkcontribs) 13:58, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

RfA

I think my second RfA should occur fairly soon, as it is three months after my failed one. I believe I have a co-nom too with Rudget. Before I go through the process again, please review my contributions and tell me the good, the bad, and the ugly. Undeath (talk) 18:32, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Corrections.com Community

We spoke last year RE Corrections.com and since then our group has created a new login that can be access from our various agencies. Our committee (comprised of Police, sheriffs, commissioners, wardens and jail administrators) has also met several times based on the direction you provided us last year. We will be posting a new version later today that we believe comes from a more historical and factual perspective. Please let us know if there anything else we can do. Our next committee meeting is in 2 weeks. Thank you for you assistance. March 2, 2008

Helping The Corrections.com Community

Just posted and got deleted by someone else. Would you be kind enough to assist us in bringing our page into compliance? As this is the first time the corrections industry is willing to wear a public face this is great historical importance to us all. I also don't want to break the momentum we have achieved with all 3 of the criminal justice branches (police, courts and corrections) working together towards this effort. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you. Cjneversleeps (talk) 20:43, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

When.

Well, I guess the only proper question is when should I do my next RfA? I might have a co nom..but he needs to confirm that. Also, is my closing of IfD's good or bad? Undeath (talk) 06:48, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

I think it's time for my new RfA. I've consulted many admins and users over the past three months as to what I could do better, and I believe that I have successfully completed, what most people would consider, the necessary requirements. Would you nominate me again? If so, your nomination is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Also, I've notified Rudget about the up-coming RfA. If he wants to co-nom, he might show up for it too, and he might not, I don't really know. Undeath (talk) 03:46, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
I fully agree with your decision. I don't know how that biting accusation even became. (and I thought I had taken care of that rollback accident) Undeath (talk) 12:32, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

There was a {{hangon}} on this. Please restore, thx.--NapoliRoma (talk) 17:11, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks -- yes, I was in the process of adding to the talk page to explain why I was doing so and what I'd be doing when, I found the article had already been deleted. Will you be restoring the talk page, too? Thanks again, NapoliRoma (talk) 17:21, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Deleted Article

Hi Jimfbleak,

I appologise for the content that was submitted in the article Prosperizer.

I did read the terms and conditions but obviosly not that well :(

I tried to write an article that shows the company but not to the extent where I posted any links. I can see information on sections like MLM and Network Marketing and would just like to inform people of what Prosperizer has to offer.

If I re - write this article in a less "advertising" style and more "informative" can I please repost as I didn't mean to offend.

Sorry

Hello

I just submitted an article about the Cambodian Center for Study and Development in Agriculture (CEDAC), it was deleted because of copyright infringement. It was indeed copied directly from the CEDAC website, but I work for that NGO and wrote the material originally. What is the process to ensure I can create an article that does not get deleted?

Thanks

David

You deleted the article I created on Wainy Days. Wainy Days is a internet-based series featuring a number of well-known actors. Deleting it because of its supposed lack of significance is akin to deleting an article on a television series featuring well-known actors. Television content is moving to the internet. Misplaced Pages needs to keep up.

Thanks a lot Captain Deletion. I really wanted to read a wikipedia article about ExpressionEngine as I'm trying to figure out what it does and I don't like reading their own shill pieces about it, but apparently you have a major hardon for deleting good articles judging by your other comments here. Thanks for standing between me and information I wanted... that's the point of Misplaced Pages right?

Thank you again from Corrections Community

Gotcha. Just like our investigation reports. Independent sources, no personal opinions. Guess it took a couple rounds for it to sink it. Appreciate you're sticking with us (and dumming it down for us). We'll work on gathering independent sources and verifiable statements. Can those be placed at the bottom of the article as sources or should they be referenced in the main text? Also one more question - our committee was using the following page as our format model -- http://en.wikipedia.org/American_Correctional_Association. After reading your feedback I am thinking their article may not be the proper one for us to follow? Are they considered different from us as a trade association in corrections? Is there a better example you can direct us to? Something for an online community that we should emulate. Many thanks! Cjneversleeps (talk) 17:31, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Banana people

This article is a direct translation from the Chinese version of Misplaced Pages. I don't understand why deleted? Does it mean the Chinese article too must be deleted? Dalaoban (talk) 13:34, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi Jimfbleak,

I am trying to put up a simple page about GE Real Estate but I am not sure exactly why it is considered to be blatant adverstising (G11). Can you please elaborate?

Thank you,

Jackpotcity Online Casino

Hi Jimfbleak,

My page was also deleted as per Banana people above. My article is almost identical to another entitled 32Red. Would you please be so kind as to inform me why it was deleted / refused?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Odometer cart (registerd mileage of travel)

Hi Jimfbleak, sorry to bother you. The article in the header above has been on CSD for about three hours but has not been deleted. Since you're the most active admin in the logs (besides MZMcBride), I was wondering if you could just perform a quick, straightforward deletion of the article? Thanks, and sorry for bothering. Corrections.com Update

The example you gave us is great! Thank you. Sometimes it takes us old timers a blatant picture to make it all click. Another user has also helped us post our page in a 'working area' so we can keep making edits there until we are ready to post back to main pages. Thank you again for the time and direction you have given us. We'll keep you updated.Cjneversleeps (talk) 10:03, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

ZAP Edits

Thanks for the reality check, Jim. Please see my note on Talk:Plug-in hybrid. I was going to bring this too you right away, but I hate bugging you all the time. I need to learn to relax about these things. Fbagatelleblack (talk) 17:30, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

BTW, 66.182.15.218 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) now seems to be adding a Wikilink to the ZAP (motor company) site on many, many articles, some of which have nothing to do with ZAP. For instance, he/she posted a link to the ZAP page on in the Supercapacitors page, even though the ZAP (motor company) article mentions neither capacitors nor supercapacitors. Louis Blériot

Hi Jim, An editor recently removed a section I had written for Louis Blériot. The removed section contained verbiage and a photo (Image:Bleriot.jpg) of a bicycle named the "Bleriot" made by Rivendell Bicycle Works. I felt that the bicycle represented a notable homage to Blériot, primarily because it introduced him to tens of thousands of cyclists and other folks who never would have heard of him otherwise. Also, Rivendell was paying tribute to the man, and expressing admiration for his pursuit of new designs. The editor who erased this section (and who has made several excellent additions to the article on Blériot) did not think the connection was notable, and suggested we ask an independent third party. So, that is what I am doing with this post.

Thanks, once again, for your help. Fbagatelleblack (talk) 20:58, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks, Jim. The other editor has re-posted the bicycle info and photo, so I shall let sleeping dogs lie at this point. Appreciate the help! Fbagatelleblack (talk) 16:03, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Ah, Ref 3 mentions thrushes (all of them, not just the Song Thrush) as being defined as Unprotected by the amendment to the Wildlife Act 1953 (which means they can be killed at any time with no need to notify anyone). I also meant it as a more general reference for the fact that there is no policy to control or eradicate them. Yomangani 15:43, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
