Sat Sep 21: Wikicurious - Editing to the Beat ♫ @ Lehman College | |
---|---|
You are invited to join the Wikimedia NYC community for the "Editing to the Beat" event of the beginner-focused Wikicurious series at Lehman College. This is the second event of the series, following the inaugural event at Civic Hall in July. Led by a 9-person live band demonstrating Caribbean and Latin musical genres, we'll engage with efforts such as WikiProject Latin Music, and will encourage editing on both English and Spanish Misplaced Pages. All are welcome, and newcomers and aspiring editors are especially encouraged to attend. Registration via Eventbrite is required for building entry, and is also encouraged on the event page on Meta. The Wikicurious series is supported by Craig Newmark Philanthropies. Wikimedia NYC is an official affiliate and supported by the Wikimedia Foundation. Also supporting this event are Equis, The Celia Cruz Foundation, and the International Museum of Salsa. In association with WikiCari and AfroCrowd. I really have no animosity and believe I have been civil, but the conduct is quite concerning. You seem to be an experienced editor so I am confused. I would ask you respect the process you started and allow it to run, despite it not being necessary in the first place. CNMall41 (talk) 19:07, 24 September 2024 (UTC)
- While not to template an experienced user, I do need to say you are bludgeoning the process. I would like to understand why you no longer wish to discuss and continue with WP:TE. Not sure if this is ANI-worthy or not so hoping you can explain this. Where is the guideline that says vote counts (especially a 2 to 1) is consensus?--CNMall41 (talk) 19:18, 25 September 2024 (UTC)

Civility and edit warring
You challenged some material claiming it was unsourced and OR; I provided the sources, yet you persist in accusing me of advocacy. I have not advocated anything but simply provided sources for challenged statements. I would consider your repeated WP:ASPERSIONS that I am pushing a POV or advocating something to be WP:UNCIVIL. Please do not persist in this or I will make an appropriate AE report along with your repeated removals of sourced material in an edit warring fashion despite 2 other editors reverting. Whitewashing of genocide in Australia
I don't have permission but can you add this?
An editor has removed all mention of genocide from the lead and body of the Australia article.
Source to cite:
https://australian.museum/learn/first-nations/genocide-in-australia/
I'm requesting that this is added to the lead and body:
The arrival of British settler colonizers began in 1788, leading to a genocide of the Indigenous Aboriginal population, mass killings, forced assimilation, and their confinement to various Aboriginal reservations.
Absolutely shocking that this is not shown.

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message
Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}}

About berbers RFC
Not trying to start a conversation here, just wanted to note that the discussion is about the infobox, not the content of the article itself, in case an edit war starts due to a misunderstanding seeing that you added a wrong note in the RFC. Thank you. TahaKahi (talk) 23:17, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
- TahaKahi, thanks for the note. Misread and thought we were talking about mos:altname. Tried to address but there was an edit conflict and it was a mess so gave up. Feel free to delete the notes if you'd like. إيان (talk) 23:26, 19 November 2024 (UTC)

A Dictionary of Modern Written Arabic
I'm sure you're well-intended, but changing the focus of the article from the Arabic-English dictionary to the Arabic-German dictionary is a drastic change. Please discuss on the article talk page... 00:21, 11 December 2024 (UTC) AnonMoos (talk) 00:21, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
