Hello
Just saw your page. Don't worry, I started out as a dabbler, and now I am extremely addicted to Wiki, so much so it has become my husband's favorite joke. If something comes up that we don't know the answer to, he just reminds me that since I am ALWAYS on Wiki, I can find the answer. Glad to have you here. Prsgoddess187 23:59, 10 December 2005 (UTC)

News from Esperanza
Hello, fellow Esperanzians! This is just a friendly reminder that elections for Administrator General and two advisory council positions have just begun. Voting will last until Friday, December 30, so make sure you exercise your right to vote! Also, I'm pleased to announce the creation of the Esperanza mailing list. I urge all members to join; see Misplaced Pages:Esperanza/Contact for more information. All you need to do is email me and I will activate your account. This will be a great way to relax, stay in touch, and hear important announcements. Thanks! Flcelloguy (A note?)
This message was delivered to all Esperanza members by our acting messenger, Redvers. If you do not wish to receive further messages, please list yourself at WP:ESP/S. Thanks.
An Esperanzial note
As I remember, the last spam that was handed out was on the 20th of December last year, so I think it's time for another update. First and foremost, the new Advisory Council and Administrator General have been elected. They consist of myself as Admin General and FireFox, Titoxd, Flcelloguy and Karmafist as the Advisory Council. We as a group met formally for the first time on the 31st of Decembe. The minutes of this meeting can be found at WP:ESP/ACM. The next one is planned for tonight (Sunday 29 January) at 20:30 UTC and the agenda can be found at WP:ESP/ACM2.
In other news, Karmafist has set up a discussion about a new personal attack policy, which it can be found here. Other new pages include an introductory page on what to do when you sign up, So you've joined Esperanza... and a welcome template: {{EA-welcome}} (courtesy of Bratsche). Some of our old hands may like to make sure they do everything on the list as well ;) Additionally, the userpage award program proposal has become official is operational: see Misplaced Pages:Esperanza/User Page Award to nominate a userpage or volunteer as a judge. Also see the proposed programs page for many new proposals and old ones that need more discussion ;)
Other than that, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and wish you an Esperanzially good new WikiYear :D Thank you! --Celestianpower 16:57, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

Another Esperanzial note...
Hi again Esperanzians! Well, since our last frolic in the realms of news, the Advisory Council has met twice more (see WP:ESP/ACM2 and WP:ESP/ACM3). As a result, the charter has been ammended twice (see here for details) and all of the shortcuts have been standardised (see the summary for more details). Also of note is the Valentines ball that will take place in the Esperanza IRC channel on the 14th of February (tomorrow). It will start at 6pm UTC and go on until everyone's had enough! I hope to see you all there! Also, the spamlist has been dissolved - all Esperanzians will now recieve this update "newsletter".
The other major notice I need to tell you about is the upcoming Esperanza Advisory Council Elections. These will take place from 12:00 UTC on February 20th to 11:59 UTC on February 27th. The official handing-over will take place the following day. Candidates are able to volunteer any time before the 20th, so long as they are already listed on the members list. Anyone currently listed on the memberlist can vote. In a change since last time, if you have already been a member of the leadership, you may run again. Due to the neutrality precident, I will not vote for anyone.
Yours, as ever, Esperanzially,

Table width
Hi, I have fixed the table width. You just need to insert width=XX% or width=YYpx in the right place. See table help. Anyways, you still need to provide references and find some solution for image copyrights for your list to be perfect :) Renata 01:20, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
- Well, fair use is generally allowed on WP, you just have to comply with very strict rules. And one of these rules are that you cannot use images claimed under fair use for decorations, i.e. where those images are not neccessary or where they provide little info. Like in this list - the images are here so that the list looks nice, all the important info is in the table. All other licenses (public domain, GFDL, etc.) are ok and you can use those images in whatever way you want. So in short, if you want to keep the images, you need to find "free" (i.e. that are in public domain, under GFDL, or CC licenses) alternatives. Hope this explains. Feel free to ask any questions. Renata 00:48, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
- You cannot use WP as reference. You need some outside works (websites, books, articles, tv shows, etc etc) that agree with your facts you presented in the list. See WP:CITE. Also, the first two images are not ok since there is no explanation as to why they are in public domain. The user as well might have lied. It's quite tough to make a list/article featured, but don't give up! :) Renata 18:25, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

medieval women
Hi! Thanks for joining my wee project. I'm a little new to the "project" thing, and confess to having more of an idea that it should be done than a concrete sense of how it should be done. But that won't stop us! No sir. I think good progress has been made with getting articles added to the med. women category, so now we can move on to going through them and seeing which ones can be most easily and profitably improved. If you have a copy of the Encyclopedia of Medieval History (I do!), that, or a similar reference tome, might be a good place to start. You say you're into royalty, so maybe you could spruce up the ones about queens and consorts. I'd also like to make some kind of portal or other schematic browsing device, but I'm not sure exactly what it should look like...maybe we should check out the Medieval Warfare project folks and see if they have any advice for us! Anyway, I hope that gives you some idea of a starting point. We can figure it out as we go along... Oh! and look for recruits! Yeah! Welcome aboard! Cantara 20:19, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

I'll help copyedit your list as soon as you add a few more citations to the introduction. In the meantime, would you do me the favor of a critique on my nomination Cultural depictions of Joan of Arc? Best wishes, Durova 16:55, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
- We still need page references for the introduction. If you'll just write them out on my talk page and quote the line where they go, I'll put them in. Best wishes, Durova 22:57, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

The Lord of the Rings Peer Review
I have make extensive changes to our Lord of the Rings article in an attempt to work it up to Featured Article status. In order to find more suggestions I have listed it under Misplaced Pages:Peer Review. Under the guidelines to nominations I am required to notify others of knowledge in the area to review it. I have decided that the best group for this would be our WikiProject. So I ask you all to look at the article and make any suggestions you can. Hopefully we will be voting this FA soon enough. License tagging for Image:HHMagME.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:HHMagME.jpg. Misplaced Pages gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Misplaced Pages, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Misplaced Pages:Media copyright questions. 14:05, 29 April 2006 (UTC)

Violin image
Hi; I thought you might be interested to know that the base image you used for Violinconstruction.JPG was my wife's teaching fiddle for the past three or four years. Just recently she upgraded, and that one has been placed with one of her students, where we think it will have a good home. I've left some thoughts on the image's talk page; do with them what you will, as this fascinating world continues on its merry way. Cheers (is the Queen's English for teşekkur ederim,) __ Just plain Bill 14:20, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
Fantastic job, and quickly done; brilliant! The nut is the little block of ebony that the strings ride over, coming out of the pegbox. The fingerboard doesn't go all the way to the bridge; the end of the board can be seen in the neighbourhood of the upper corners. For simplicity's sake, you might consider calling out the neck and fingerboard without the parentheses after. This image probably also deserves a place in Violin construction and mechanics. What you've done adds a lot; cheers! __ Just plain Bill 13:38, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
- On reflection, the "(chin to root)" parenthesis adds a bit. Keep it, or not? I don't know. :-) _ Just plain Bill
- Further reflection: you may want to give the pegbox a span-bracket thingy... OK, I'll give it a rest now, before it gets too fussed-over. _ JpB
- Looks good to me. One minor nit: there's only one nut. Might want to just say "Fingerboard" there, since it doesn't reach to the bridge. ciao, __ Just plain Bill 03:32, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

A short Esperanzial update
As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.
As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Misplaced Pages:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.
Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, —Celestianpower 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
Dutch name
Thanks for moving the content to its own article, and for working at wikifying it.
One small thing I disagree with: I don't think nobility should link to Dutch nobility. The Dutch language is spoken in at least three different countries, two of which have their own nobility. The limited link is especially unfortunate since the example I gave was of a member of Belgian nobility.--82.92.181.129 11:43, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Imperial Crypt Vaults graphic.
Great graphic! There are a few corrections needed, though:
- The B for the children's columbarium should be moved all the way to the right-hand wall. The kids' coffins are in flat-bottomed tubes cut into the thickness of the outside wall.
- Where you presently have the B should be another letter, representing Leopold's Vault.
- In Ferdinand's Vault, you do have two of the corner piers (that contain a lot of coffins) shown, but the other two corners should also show such piers too.
Thanks for adding this graphic... it does improve the article.

Russian saints
Thank you again for your comments. Do you think the prose in the tables is understandable and grammatically correct? Or does it need some copyediting? Regards. --Tomcat (7) 11:43, 25 June 2014 (UTC)
- Hi, Tomcat7 I've gone through and correct any grammar/language issues I can see - tried not to change any of the content especially. What do you think?
- I was unsure about what you meant by 'living behind the River Danube', 'grabbed himself shoulder-long' or ' after heavy head wound' ? None seem to make sense in English.
- 1) I removed that phrase as I am not able to describe it in English. In Russian there exist such wordings as "behind" and "ahead" a river. I think English speakers would use cardinal directions. 2) it means that he grabbed himself until his shoulders 3) changed to injury
- Nor do I know what 'drinking bout' refers to?
- it means addiction of drinking something
- Finally, when you use the phrase "known to the world" (as in Ephraim, known to the world Eustathius), do you mean "better known as"? If so, then I would have changed this. Sotakeit (talk) 12:26, 25 June 2014 (UTC)
- After tonsure, the person receives a new name. So this wording describes someone's worldly, secular name.--Tomcat (7) 13:20, 25 June 2014 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Princess Caroline Matilda of Great Britain, and it appears to be very similar to another Misplaced Pages page: Caroline Matilda of Great Britain. IPA at Guangxi
I removed your addition of IPA to this article. Guangxi isn't an English word, so doesn't really have an English pronunciation. Whenever I hear it it's said essentially in Chinese, but there's no need for Chinese IPA as pinyin serves the same purpose, precisely giving the pronunciation (with tones which English IPA doesn't have) and being much more widely understood. IPA is hardly ever used for Chinese in articles for this reason. It's not needed except in articles like pinyin.--JohnBlackburnedeeds 13:48, 9 October 2014 (UTC)

Rode Hall
Hi Sotakeit. Any idea why there is no indication of its location on the map? Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 10:27, 28 April 2015 (UTC)
- Hi, Martinevans123! I'd missed a pesky "-" from the longitude. All fixed now. How's that? Sotakeit (talk) 10:34, 28 April 2015 (UTC)
- That's much better, thanks! Although I sometimes wonder about the utility of these standard maps without any place names - is one meant to navigate by means of the shape of the county boundary? Useful in preparing for the University Challenge picture round, I guess! Martinevans123 (talk) 10:40, 28 April 2015 (UTC)
- You've a point there, Martinevans123. I suppose if you don't already have some sort of familiarity with the region, they're not much help at all. What brought you to the article, if you don't mind me asking? I've had a go at expanding it from 'stub status' and listed it for peer review, however if you have the time and inclination, it would be great if you could give it a quick critique? Sotakeit (talk) 11:43, 28 April 2015 (UTC)
- I generally arrive at articles at random, but I see that in this case it was CPRE. I can see you've dome a lot of good work there. I'll try and have a look. Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 12:21, 28 April 2015 (UTC)

Hi Sotakeit. Thanks for reviewing the Manor House, Sleaford article I nominated, and for the barnster - it's nice to have one's work appreciated occasionally. As for Rode Hall, I don't mind taking a look over the next few days and making suggestions on the talk page. Although I would obviously be objective, I am not sure how I feel about reviewing it, as I worry that it might be seen as QPQ... Thank you very much for your review and kind words; happy editing, —Noswall59 (talk) 15:25, 30 April 2015 (UTC).

Good work. SilkTork 17:01, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
- Congratulations on bringing this article up to GA level. Although I started it, I do know from my own experience how much harder it is to develop an article into a condition that satisfies a reviewer.
Your GA nomination of Rode Hall
Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Rode Hall you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Edwininlondon -- Edwininlondon (talk) 12:40, 10 September 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Sotakeit, I have finished my review. I'm happy to help out a bit to get it to GA. Edwininlondon (talk) 17:29, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Edwininlondon. Sorry for the lack off response. I've been having some Misplaced Pages downtime. I'll have a look at your review tonight and try and get as much of your suggestions actioned as possible. Thanks! Sotakeit (talk) 18:07, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Sotakeit. I reckon you still have no time to act. What would you like me to do? I could make as many changes as possible myself. Although I don't know if that is going outside the realm of what a reviewer should do. Edwininlondon (talk) 11:37, 9 October 2015 (UTC)
- Edwininlondon, I came here after seeing that there had been no edits to the article by Sotakeit and no response there to your review after over a month. You've already made a number of edits to the article; unless you plan to do all the edits needed to address the many issues you raised in the review, it's probably time to close the nomination as unsuccessful, since it can't be listed without correcting each and every problem noted. Once Sotakeit has returned to active editing and has updated the article to fix the issues you noted, he can renominate it; you can always offer to review that nomination as well, if you wish, though it's certainly not a requirement for you to do so. BlueMoonset (talk) 18:33, 16 October 2015 (UTC)
- @BlueMoonset, I will see how far I get with making the edits myself. I might learn a thing or two. Thanks for your guidance. Edwininlondon (talk) 19:39, 16 October 2015 (UTC)

Hi! You recently placed your GA review of my article Princess Charlotte of Prussia on hold. I thought I'd place a note here to let you know I resolved your concerns from the review. Was there anything else you think needs improvement, or is the article now passed? Please post on the review page. Thanks! Ruby 2010/2013 17:12, 3 April 2016 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) Hi Sotakeit; hope you are well. It is understandable when RL takes over Misplaced Pages, and if that has happened; you have my understanding. However, if you have a moment, please pass this GA review if you believe the article now meets the criteria. All the best, Prhartcom (talk) 20:40, 10 April 2016 (UTC)
