• March 26 – Avelia Liberty trains are expected to be introduced, eventually replacing Acela Express trains along the Northeast Corridor.

• – Delhi–Alwar Regional Rapid Transit System to be completed, allowing speeds up to 160 kilometres per hour (99 mph).
