  2. Mary Lou Harley was announced on the Green Party website as their candidate for Labrador but did not register with Elections Canada.
  3. Elected as a Bloc MP in 2011, left the caucus to seat as an Independent MP in August 2014 and joined the Strength in Democracy caucus in October 2014.
  4. Results after the judicial recount.
  5. Perreault sat as an independent at dissolution then joined Strength in Democracy after writ was dropped.
  6. Mourani sat as an Independent after leaving the BQ; NDP policy did not allow her to join their caucus before the election.
  7. Bernardo was a candidate for the Communist League, which is not a registered political party and ineligible to be listed on the ballot. Being listed as No Affiliation means that she left the party affiliation section of her candidate registration empty.
  8. Excluded from Liberal caucus on 5 November 2014. Sat as an Independent until end of legislature.
  9. Sat as NDP at dissolution; joined GPC after writ was issued.
  10. Jacob Kearey-Moreland described himself as a Cooperative Interdependence candidate.
  11. Sears is the leader of The New Constitution Party of Canada which was ineligible to be on the ballot; he chose to be listed as an Independent.
  12. Jagdish Grewal was expelled by the Conservative Party on 6 October; because no changes could be made to the list of confirmed candidates after 28 September, he was still listed as the Conservative candidate on the ballot.
  13. Bory is leader of The Maple Party which was ineligible to be on the ballot; he chose to be listed as an Independent.
  14. Young was a candidate for the Communist League which is not a registered political party and ineligible to be listed on the ballot. He chose to be listed as an Independent.
  15. Gordon Campbell ran to provide a "none of the above" option for voters.
  16. Gary Adams was selected as the Green Party candidate for Kelowna—Lake Country when he pledged to immediately resign and support the Liberal candidate, Stephen Fuhr. The party's federal leadership asked him not to resign or endorse Fuhr and Adams relented. Adams eventually registered as a candidate but soon withdrew and the party decided to respect local party members' decision to not run a candidate.
  17. Cheryl Thomas publicly withdrew from the election 30 September; her name remained on the ballot as a Liberal candidate because no change could be made to the list of candidates after 28 September.
