The Virginia gubernatorial election of 2013 will take place on November 5, 2013. The incumbent governor, Republican Bob McDonnell, will not be eligible to run due to term limits established by the Virginia Constitution. Virginia is the only state that prohibits its governor from serving immediate successive terms.
