The 1837 Indiana gubernatorial election was held on 7 August 1837 in order to elect the Governor of Indiana. Incumbent Whig Lieutenant Governor David Wallace defeated Democratic nominee John Dumont.
General election
On election day, 7 August 1837, Whig nominee David Wallace won the election by a margin of 9,152 votes against his opponent Democratic nominee John Dumont, thereby retaining Whig control over the office of Governor. Wallace was sworn in as the 6th Governor of Indiana on 6 December 1837.
