In 1997, Francisco Clavet defeated his compatriot Juan Albert Viloca in the final, after previously losing in two semifinals against Muster in three disputed sets, but until then the title was denied to him. That's why the celebration was a joyful explosion not only for him, but the fans at the Club Alemán at Mexico City, who saw the moment of his crowning.
