==Company profile==
Alaska Milk Corporation was incorporated in 1994. However, long before that, operations have already started as early as 1972 through a Holland Milk Products, Incorporated. Holland Milk was a joint venture between Holland Canned Milk International B.V. and General Milling Corporation, another company founded by Wilfred Steven Uytengsu, Sr.. General Milling has interest in flour, feeds and soy bean milling.
Holland Milk initially just produced canned evaporated and condensed milk and UHT ready to drink milk. But in the 1980S, the company started producing powder-filled milk under the Alaska brand. Because of the rapid growth of the company’s milk business, management decided to spin-off milk production as a independent entity and incorporated it as Alaska Milk Corporation in 1994. A year later, its shares were listed in the Philippine Stock Exchange under the stock symbol AMC.

==History==
When AMC reorganized its distribution operations and networks, Nabisco International and Quaker Oats, Incorporated tapped the company to be its exclusive distributor of Nabisco and Quaker Oats products. AMC CEO Wilfred Uytengsu, Jr. was only 23 years old when his father asked him to do a feasibility study on putting up a basketball team. The Alaska team debuted in 1986 with some of the holdovers from the Magnolia Team. But it was only in 1991 did the Alaska team win its first championship. To date, Alaska is one of the winningest team in the league with a total of 13 titles (six Governor's Cup and Inivitational Championship, three All-Filipino Cup Championship, two Commissioner's Cup Championship and two Fiesta Cup Championship). History

Alaska Milk Corporation facility in San Pedro, Laguna

Holland Milk Products, Inc. (HOMPI) was established in 1972. It was a joint venture between General Milling Corporation (GMC) and Holland Canned Milk International B.V. (now FrieslandCampina). HOMPI initially manufactured canned liquid milk (evaporated milk and condensed milk). It eventually expanded to manufacture powdered milk and UHT milk.

In 1994, HOMPI was spun off from GMC and incorporated as Alaska Milk Corporation (AMC) under the control of Wilfred Uytengsu Sr. Shortly after its incorporation, AMC was listed in the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) in 1995.

Wilfred Steven Uytengsu Jr., eldest son of Wilfred Sr., assumed the position of president and CEO in 2007. The elder Uytengsu died in April 2010 at the age of 82.

In 2007, AMC acquired the canned milk business of Nestlé Philippines. The acquisition included the Alpine, Liberty, and Krem-Top trademarks, as well as the trademark licenses (until 2021) for Nestle's Carnation and Milkmaid brands.

In 2012, FrieslandCampina acquired majority control of AMC from the Uytengsu family. On November 5, 2012, AMC was delisted from the PSE after FrieslandCampina completed its tender offering for 98.1% ownership of AMC. Prior to this, FrieslandCampina held an 8.1% interest in AMC. Wilfred Steven Uytengsu Jr. remained as president and CEO until the end of 2018. Since 2019, Uytengsu serves as the Chairman of the company.
